AXIOM® to Replace Oracle Applications

C&M Corporation, a global manufacturer of high performance cable & cable assemblies, has selected the AXIOM Enterprise Resource Management System from AXIS Computer Systems, Inc. as the company’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. AXIOM® is a comprehensive software system built around the unique operational requirements of the metals, wire and cable industries. “We selected the AXIOM ERP software product because it fits our cable & assembly manufacturing business with little or no need for customization,” states Lee Gadoury, C&M Corporation Controller. “After using the Oracle applications for a few years, we recognized that it was not a good fit for our manufacturing process and it would be too expensive and time-consuming to customize. We worked with quite a few Oracle consultants trying to use the basic Oracle program structure to no avail. We decided that it would be better to implement a solution designed from the ground up for the wire and cable industry. The well-known cross-industry ERP solutions like Oracle have their good points, but they just aren’t built to handle some of the critical needs of a cable manufacturer. We also decided we wanted a system that was easier to manage on a day-to-day basis with a small IT staff. We want to put our corporate energies into designing and delivering high quality cable and assemblies, not into developing software.”
