Dynamet Goes Live with AXIOM®
for Titanium Alloy Products Manufacturing

Dynamet Incorporated, a subsidiary of Carpenter Technology Corporation, has gone live with the AXIOM® Enterprise Resource Management System at the company’s Washington, Pennsylvania mill; Clearwater, Florida processing plant; Stanton, California warehouse and sales office and Brussels, Belgium sales office. Dynamet replaced an older SYMIX system with AXIOM/mx Open version 4 operating on a SCO UNIX server.

“ When we decided to replace our old system, we looked at all of the leading ERP software packages,” states Tom Proteau, Dynamet ERP Project Leader. “We wanted a comprehensive system that had integrated support for sales, production and finance, but we also wanted a solution that was tailored to the metals industry. In addition, we did not want a system that would require significant modifications to meet our needs. Of all the packages we looked at, AXIOM was the product that fit our metals processing business the best.”

Dynamet is a leading global supplier of titanium alloy products for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. These products are used in applications where corrosion resistance, light weight, strength and biocompatibility are important, including aircraft fasteners, artificial joints and trauma-related implants, and springs for snowmobiles and other high-performance motorsports.

Dynamet converts ingot and billet purchased from a select group of qualified global suppliers using a variety of hot working, cold finishing and conditioning equipment. The company manufactures and sells defect-free coil, bar, spooled wire and shaped/profile bar and wire products.
