Northwire Grows Custom Cable Business using AXIOM®

Over the past several years, Northwire, Inc. has transformed itself from a manufacturer of standard flexible cable to a leader in the custom control cable business. One of the tools that has enabled this dramatic change and the associated growth in business has been the implementation of the AXIOM® Enterprise Resource Management System from AXIS Computer Systems, Inc.

Faced with a new business model that required fast turnaround of smaller orders, shorter lead times, and more complex manufacturing processes, replaced it's aging systems with AXIOM in 1997. Since then, the company has seen steady growth of nearly 10% per year. Today, Northwire processes more than 6,000 orders each year for its growing customer base - all with new levels of efficiency. It has gone from a model of filling orders from existing customers for existing products to one dominated by existing and new customers who want new products.
