AXIOM/mx Open Certified for Linux
AXIOM/mx Open, the foundation of AXIS Computer Systems’ AXIOM
Enterprise Resource Management System, is now available on
the Linux platform. AXIS has certified AXIOM/mx Open release
4.5 for supported versions of Linux and plans to certify
future releases. Initial companies migrating AXIOM to the
Linux operating system include Harbour Industries and Fisk
Alloy Wire.
Linux is a Unix-type operating system originally created
by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around
the world. Developed under the GNU General Public License,
the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone.
Distributions of Linux are sold and supported by companies
such as Red Hat, SuSE, and others.
Current AXIOM/mx Open users on maintenance can migrate
to Linux with no additional license fees for AXIOM/mx
Open.
In addition to Linux, AXIOM is available on popular UNIX
platforms (Hewlett-Packard HP-UX, IBM AIX, and Sun
Solaris) and Windows Server 2003.
