Richard Miller Joins AXIS as Senior Consultant

Former IBM Metals Industry Consultant Brings Extensive Industry Knowledge and Involvement

AXIS Computer Systems, Inc. (AXIS) announces that Richard (Rich) Miller, a widely recognized expert in the field of information systems for the metals industry and former IBM metals industry consultant, has joined AXIS Computer Systems, Inc. (AXIS) as a senior consultant.

Very active in the metals industry, Rich was Chairman of the Computer Applications Committee for the Iron and Steel Society (ISS) 2000-2002, and has been a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) and the Steel Industry Systems Association (SISA), as well as ISS. He has presented a number of papers at events sponsored by those organizations as well as the International Scrap Recycling Institute (ISRI).

At IBM, Rich was a part of the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) group within the Industrial Sector and supported worldwide solutions for the metals industry. In these roles, he worked with many leading steel companies – including companies such as AK Steel, American Spring Wire, Gerdau Steel, Nucor Steel, Stelco Steel, TISCO Steel, US Steel, Worthington Steel, and others – to help them improve business efficiency and production operations. He frequently led efforts to assess and improve business systems, evaluate and select software packages, and implement new solutions for plant sequencing and scheduling, eBusiness, and supply chain management. He also assisted clients with organizational change and adoption of other best practices.

As a senior consultant for AXIS, Rich will lead projects with AXIS customers to help them plan for and implement the AXIOM Enterprise Resource Management System. He will also act as a spokesperson for AXIS at industry conferences and events.
