Metals Industry Veteran Joins AXIS
Peter Weymouth Brings
Extensive Experience in Software Solutions for
Metals Producers, Processors, and Service Centers
AXIS announces that Peter Weymouth has joined AXIS as Product
Manager for Production Systems. Weymouth brings over 17 years
of experience helping steel companies world-wide improve
productivity and business performance through the use of
information technology. Weymouth will be responsible for
directing requirements definition, design, and development
of future AXIS software solutions related to production planning,
scheduling, and tracking within the AXIOM® Enterprise
Resource Management System.

Peter Weymouth brings to AXIS over 17 years of experience
in the information systems and metals industries. As a founding
member of Steelman Software, he helped transition a custom
ERP system into a commercial package, and acted as Professional
Services Director supporting both sales and implementation
projects. Prior to Steelman, he was project manager at Computer
Methods International Corporation (CMiC) where the software
that later became the Steelman product was originally developed
for a steel company client. Before that he was internal consultant
for logistics and automation at Altos Hornos de Mexico S.A.
de C.V. (AHMSA – Mexico's largest steel company at
the time). Prior to that, he was a project manager and consultant
with Hoogovens Technical Services, TOA Inc., and Ernst & Young
Canada where he worked with a number of leading steel companies
in North and South America, and Europe. Weymouth has authored
or co-authored many papers and articles on production scheduling
for metals industry associations such as SISA, AISE, and
others. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Computer
Science from Ryerson University in Toronto.
