Steel Service Center to Implement AXIOM® Software at Indiana Facilities

Stripco Inc. (Stripco), a leading steel coil and strip service center, has selected the AXIOM® Enterprise Resource Management System as the company’s new business management support system. Stripco will use the AXIOM software solution to help further increase productivity, customer responsiveness, and profitability at the company’s service center facility located near South Bend, Indiana.

Stripco evaluated a number of potential ERP software packages over the course of several years, but did not find a solution they felt could really serve their needs until they found AXIS and the AXIOM solution. “After vetting software application providers for many years, we chose AXIS as our partner because of their focus on the metals industry and their unique understanding of our manufacturing requirements,” stated Eric Hiler, Stripco General Manager. “Among other benefits, we expect the scheduling capabilities of the AXIOM software system will help us to put in place a more highly automated and efficient shop floor environment. A family-owned business founded in 1984, Stripco specializes in narrow steel products. Stripco makes tight-tolerance cold rolled strip, with its four-high reversing mill and annealing facilities. In addition to custom cold rolled strip, the company produces hot rolled, hot rolled pickled and oil, and galvanized products. Stripco will deploy AXIOM core applications and the AXIOM eSuite online customer service solution utilizing Windows 2003 servers and thin clients. AXIOM will replace Stripco’s current in-house developed system to provide real-time updates and information access, as well as an intuitive graphical user interface, end-user reporting tools, desktop integration, and 24x7 customer self-service capabilities. AXIOM will be integrated with Stripco’s existing scale and lab systems in addition to select level two process control systems.
