AXIOM®/mx Open 4.1 Delivers Enhanced Finance, Material Tracking & Control, and Sales Order Management Capabilities

Release 4.1 of AXIOM/mx Open is now available and includes numerous enhancements to the system’s Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Material Tracking and Control, Sales Order Management, and System Administration applications. AXIOM/mx Open is the foundation of the AXIOM Enterprise Resource Management System for metals, wire and cable manufacturers.

AXIOM/mx Open 4.1 enhancements were define and prioritized by AXIS in close cooperation with the AX-US user group. Many of the enhancements represent capabilities designed to address real world issues that are unique to metals producers, processors and service centers, and wire and cable manufacturers.

Financial Management enhancements include new electronic bank communication capabilities for payments and bank reconciliation, as well as enhanced A/P payment, A/R cash application, invoice write-off management, and more.

Material Tracking and Control enhancements include a powerful new ‘Schedule Board’ as well as new ‘Furnace Lot’ management capabilities.

The Schedule Board provides the ability for the planner/scheduler to finite load work orders to balance capacity. To aid the planner, it also provides various capacity views of the schedule, including: loaded work orders, scheduled capacity, effective capacity, available capacity, and cumulative available capacity. An exceptions view displays exception conditions for each work order sorted in due date sequence. Users can sort on exception message, work order number, and customer name.

Furnace Lots functionality is applicable to batch anneal operations where multiple pieces of tag-controlled parts from multiple work orders with the same heat treat practice (operation code) are processed together. Once the furnace lot is marked complete, the tags are all moved to the next operation on their respective work orders.

Sales Order Management enhancements include a new ‘Supply Status’ report, an enhanced Customer Order Status Inquiry, enhanced Material Reservation by Tag, and more.

The new Supply Status report consolidates a complete picture of the status of all supply elements required to fulfill customer orders, including: on-hand and reserved inventory, work orders, and purchase orders.

Enhancements to the Customer Order Status Inquiry include a sort capability and the ability to drill-down to the appropriate transactions or other details depending on user privileges. Additionally, the ability to display consignment inventory is now provided.

In addition, a number of System Administration enhancements are provided in the release, including enhanced purge and data export processes.
