AXIOM®/mx Open 4.1 Delivers Enhanced
Finance, Material Tracking & Control, and Sales Order
Management Capabilities
Release 4.1 of AXIOM/mx Open is now available and includes
numerous enhancements to the system’s Accounts Receivable,
Accounts Payable, Material Tracking and Control, Sales Order
Management, and System Administration applications. AXIOM/mx
Open is the foundation of the AXIOM Enterprise Resource Management
System for metals, wire and cable manufacturers.
AXIOM/mx
Open 4.1 enhancements were define and prioritized by AXIS
in close cooperation with the AX-US user group. Many
of the enhancements represent capabilities designed to
address real world issues that are unique to metals producers,
processors
and service centers, and wire and cable manufacturers.
Financial
Management enhancements include new electronic bank communication
capabilities for payments and bank reconciliation,
as well as enhanced A/P payment, A/R cash application,
invoice write-off management, and more.
Material Tracking and Control
enhancements include a powerful new ‘Schedule Board’ as
well as new ‘Furnace
Lot’ management capabilities.
The Schedule Board provides
the ability for the planner/scheduler to finite load work
orders to balance capacity. To aid the
planner, it also provides various capacity views of the
schedule, including: loaded work orders, scheduled capacity,
effective
capacity, available capacity, and cumulative available
capacity. An exceptions view displays exception conditions
for each
work order sorted in due date sequence. Users can sort
on exception message, work order number, and customer name.
Furnace
Lots functionality is applicable to batch anneal operations
where multiple pieces of tag-controlled parts
from multiple work orders with the same heat treat practice
(operation code) are processed together. Once the furnace
lot is marked complete, the tags are all moved to the next
operation on their respective work orders.
Sales Order Management
enhancements include a new ‘Supply
Status’ report, an enhanced Customer Order Status Inquiry,
enhanced Material Reservation by Tag, and more.
The new Supply
Status report consolidates a complete picture of the status
of all supply elements required to fulfill
customer orders, including: on-hand and reserved inventory,
work orders, and purchase orders.
Enhancements to the Customer
Order Status Inquiry include a sort capability and the
ability to drill-down to the appropriate
transactions or other details depending on user privileges.
Additionally, the ability to display consignment inventory
is now provided.
In addition, a number of System Administration
enhancements are provided in the release, including enhanced
purge and
data export processes.
